Save your landlord’s phone number (WhatsApp recommended).
2) Confirm the basics
Read the tenancy agreement and inform yourself on your obligations regarding the rent amount, due date, payment method, reference/description (what to write in the bank transfer).
3) Quick property check
Before unpacking, do a fast walk-through:
- Doors/locks, windows, lights, outlets
- Kitchen appliances (stove/oven, fridge), water pressure
- Bathroom (toilet flush, shower, ventilation)
- Heating/cooling devices and hot water
4) Take move-in photos/video (withing 48 hours)
- Take wide shots of each room + close-ups of any issues (scratches, stains, cracks, missing items).
- If possible, photograph meter readings (electric/gas/water).
- Save everything in a folder and share with your landlord
